Life spans are longer today than ever before. The concern for the loved ones of the elderly is whether people are living better than ever before, or even as well. In the past, when an elderly person cannot live independently, they were sent to a dedicated health facility like a nursing home or even a hospital. We have come to understand that was not the best solution in many cases.
Today, more and more people opt for care in their own homes. The fact is that the mental outlook of a person is far better when left at home rather than moved to a dedicated health facility. Also, the costs are less - and, in this age of skyrocketing real estate values, you keep your asset permanently or at least as long as possible.
